When done right, the About page on your website can low-key be your secret weapon. 👀

While your About page is about you and your business, it's also (most importantly) about establishing a genuine connection with your audience by building trust and credibility.

You don't want to simply write one long paragraph of text with a photo of yourself and call it a day. This works for a bio section on the page, but it shouldn't be all that's on the page.

It's important to let your audience know right away that you understand them, you know what they're facing, and that you have the solution to their problem.

Being a small business owner, you experience different waves of emotions.

🌊 One minute you're riding a wave of excitement -- excitement of working with a new client, excitement of launching a new service or product, excitement of accomplishing your goals, & excitement of getting to do what you love every day.

🌊 And then the next thing you know you're hit with a wave of doubt -- doubting whether or not you're making the right business move, doubting whether or not you're doing enough, doubting whether or not you're actually good at what you do (hello, imposter syndrome👋).

When these particular waves get to be a little rough, here are some things I like to do to help me ride it out:

1. Set more short term goals
As a businessowner, we sometimes get caught up in the long term targets, and while these are important, they often take longer to reach. Setting more short term goals you'll find that smaller accomplishments will soon add up to bigger ones.

2. Remember you're your own biggest critic
"No one holds us to a higher standard than ourselves". You're doing the best you can, friend, don't be too hard on yourself! 💓

3. Stop comparing yourself to others
We're all on different paths. As far as arriving to where you want to be, it's not a matter of "if", but rather "when".
